She reclines under a hooded blanket of purple and gold squares, a controller in her hands and her eyes somewhere else entirely. Behind her, pale women in gold drift and doze as in one of Klimt's friezes, as if the game had leaked out of the screen. Klimt painted women at rest as though rest were a jewel. He would have liked the blanket. He would have made it heavier.
The brief
A woman reclining with a game controller, her hoodie and blanket a mosaic of gold and violet squares, her face lit softly. Viennese Secession painting with gold leaf, figures whose faces and hands are rendered softly and realistically while their bodies dissolve into flat fields of ornamental pattern, spirals, squares and eyes in gold, black and jewel tones, mosaic-like decorative surfaces, elongated composition, shimmering metallic leaf against matte paint.
