A delivery rider rests on his bicycle under a single streetlamp beside a shuttered shop with a striped awning, and the only other light is his phone, glowing on his face. The street runs off into the dark, where one far lamp answers his. Hopper painted the night city as a string of lit islands. The rider lives between them, waiting for the next order to send him on.
